Bentonite has many uses from medical to the construction industry.
In construction, bentonite is pumped into a trench (and kept full at all times) to prevent it from collapsing in on itself.
Bentonites viscosity prevents the trench from collapsing by providing outward pressure which equals the inward forces of the trench walls. When the trench is completely dug, reinforcement is lowered into the trench and is then filled with cement. Bentonite is lighter that the cement, so as the trench is filled the bentonite is forced to the surface which is then pumped back to an industrial sized storage tank.
All of our hire tanks are suitable for storing bentonite, the most common being our 80,000 litre vertical storage tanks and 54,500 litre vertical storage tanks.
