No, we have two 16 tonne forklift trucks and one 4 tonne tele-handler on site. We do not believe in charging our customer to load out tanks that they have bought or hired from us. In exceptional circumstance we may charge, but we would confirm this up front.

Bentonite in its simplest term is impure clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite (a very soft group of minerals that form in microscopic crystals, creating a clay). Bentonite was named by its founder Wilbur C Knight in 1898 after the Cretaceous Benton Shale near Rock River, Wyoming. There are many different types of bentonite which are named after the dominant element; potassium, sodium, calcium, and aluminium.
Bentonite has many uses from medical to the construction industry. In construction, bentonite is pumped into a trench (and kept full at all times) to prevent it from collapsing in on itself. Bentonites viscosity prevents the trench from collapsing by providing outward pressure which equals the inward forces of the trench walls. When the trench is completely dug, reinforcement is lowered into the trench and is then filled with cement. Bentonite is lighter that the cement, so as the trench is filled the bentonite is forced to the surface which is then pumped back to an industrial sized storage tank. All of our hire tanks are suitable for storing bentonite, the most common being our 80,000 litre vertical storage tanks and 54,500 litre vertical storage tanks.

Most of our hire tanks are supplied with two 4" butterfly valves within the tank hire cost. We can also supply gate valves up to 6", various crossovers, manifolds and hoses at an additional hire cost, please contact us for more information.
We have supplied tanks for offshore, but currently we are investing in our onshore fleet.
Normally we ask for a 4 week minimum, this is to cover for preparing the storage tank for hire and 3rd party certification of the lifting equipment. In certain cases, we will look at reducing our 4 week minimum hire charge.
Yes we can; we have vertical storage tanks for hire which are suitable for storing Bentonite. These are fully self-draining with 6" ANSI flange connections, Cat & Mouse gauges and fitted with certified lifting slings. Vertical storage tanks are ideal for projects where space constraints are an issue and used predominately in city centre locations such as London. We have used Bentonite storage tanks on projects like Cross Rail, The New American Embassy and many other major projects. We can book transport with off-loading facilities alongside the vehicle or you may choice to use your own equipment, or maybe hire a crane. Please remember to check space constraints are not going to be an issue when setting up equipment to off load.

Yes, we can modify any of our used storage tanks to suit your requirements. We have full workshop facilities and employee qualified welders, platers and painters. Please contact us for more information.
Yes, unless otherwise stated, our used storage tanks will arrive on you site commercially clean also known as visually clean.
Next day is easily achieved and same day is not out of the question with our second-hand storage tanks, subject to cleared funds. If modifications are required, this will add to the time-scale; we will try our best to work in with your schedule.
All our used tank stock is sold on an "as-is" basis. Tank surveys, either in-house or 3rd party verified can be arranged. We can also carry out pressure tests and hydro-tests if required.

All of our new build tanks come with a 12 month guarantee.
When you see the reference to specific gravity (SG) this is the measurement of strength per litre the storage tank is capable of storing. E.g., water has a specific gravity of 1.0, meaning that every 1 litre of water weighs 1kg. If the storage tank is rated at 1.2SG, the tank is capable of storing a product that weighs up to 1.2kg per litre. Our plastic storage tanks are suitable for liquid products from 1.2SG to 1.7SG and are perfect as water storage tanks. On request, we can supply plastic storage tanks up to 2.0SG.
Yes, all of our new storage tanks are suitable to store water. If you need a potable water storage tank (suitable for drinking) please look at our horizontal plastic storage tanks and vertical plastic storage tanks which are WRAS approved (black tanks only). All of our new tanks are suitable for non-potable water.
No, we have various manufacturers who build new storage tanks for us. If you contract us for a new bunded storage tank or bespoke storage tank, we will liaise with you and the manufacturer to build your new storage tank to your exact requirements.
There are some corrosive liquids that can be stored in our new plastic storage tanks, but we strongly suggest you contact us first so we can check for compatibility. Our bespoke storage tanks can be lined to store any corrosive chemical - please contact us for more information.
We are always on the look-out for used storage tanks, so if you have a storage tank you no longer require please contact us by telephone on 01502 710100 or via our storage tanks wanted page. Please take photographs of your tank prior to contacting us as these are needed before we can make any decision on your tank.
